The Best Place to Shop for Shoes

The Best Place to Shop For Shoes

Author: arif12

Any ladies who are hunting around for a nice new pair of evening shoes are best off looking online.  And here are some very good reasons why…

•    We all like to find a bargain when we can, don’t we?  Online shoe companies do not have the same overheads to think about as offline stores do.  In a high street shoe store there is shop rental to cover, heating and lighting bills to pay and assistants’ salaries to be considered.  Consequently, when they price their shoes all of these factors have to be covered.  With online stores, this is not the case.  And because they do not have so many overheads to worry about, they can pass their savings onto their customers.  A lot of the time, you will even find that the online part of a big name company will be able to offer their products at a lower price than in their actual stores.

•    Some people are still wary of ordering products from companies on the internet.  This is mostly down to the amount of horror stories going around about the latest online scams.  However, when you are dealing with a proper reputable business this is not a concern.  The golden rule is to only deal with companies who rank highly in the search results on Google.  If you have any further doubts then have a good look at the actual website before placing your order.  Many online firms will understand the hesitation of new customers and provide a testimonials section for this very reason.

•    Anyone who has gone into town to find a particular pair of designer shoes will know just how disheartening it can all become.  You will start off by confidently striding into a few different stores; sure of finding exactly what you want.  But after seeing that the first two or three have only got what you want in the wrong sizes, it can soon become a drag.  And when you combine this with the unpredictability of the Great British weather, the entire shopping trip can rapidly turn into a nightmare.  Trying one shop after another in the cold rain will soon take away the pleasure of the whole experience…

•    There are some very helpful shop assistants in shoe stores…  but we will all have encountered the odd one or two who are not so good at their job.  And after a long day of trying to track down a certain pair of shoes in a certain size, the last thing you need is to bump into one of these!  Again, if you are using the internet for your shopping, this will just not happen.

And those are just a few of the reasons why so many people are now purchasing their new footwear online instead of using traditional shoe outlets.  All in all, it makes the process of buying shoes (or virtually anything else) far easier.  And anything that makes life simple has to be good doesn’t it?

So, whatever type of footwear you are trying to find (for as low a price as possible) you are strongly advised to restrict your search to cyberspace.

GUCCI FALL WINTER 2010 2011 FASHION SHOW

Gucci fall winter 2010 2011 fashion show

Author: Anna Millman

The SIFLI Gucci was one of my most expectations across the landscape of the new autumn / winter
collections 2010 2011, so I had the pleasure of being able to watch live online.
Style and charisma of Frida Giannini in the foreground, on the catwalk
collection elegant, sophisticated, and current research, a luxury collection.
The Gucci bags
have done their part by Leon, if we sum up we have seen clutch flat, rigid
handbag, handbags ostrich leather straps and even interesting, all in neutral
tones.
The new parade of Gucci was one that most aroused my
curiosity, as part of Milan Fashion Week. For the record also awaits the parade Blumarine and Versace fashion show, which will be discussed soon. I said, last
Saturday, February 27th in the afternoon, I logged in streaming the parade of
Gucci.

On the official website and group on Facebook was enough advertised this news, this
exclusive reserved for fans of the brand: to assist in direttta, comfortably at
home, in the parade. A front row seat secured. Time given, I tuned to the
channel, which had also organized a ‘listening party’ Linked to facebbok,
through which you could comment on the various stages of the event live.

Different cameras monitor the entrance, the room that slowly filled up, the
backstage with the models, hairdressers and makeup artists, dealing with make up
and acconciaure. The parade has to wait a little respect to the roadmap, while
we were all still in turmoil saw the models with curlers on her head, brush
strokes and a hairdryer. The room was dark, the people took place, waiting a bit
more and then the show began.

Even during the live of the walkway there was more than one camera point, be able to
look from various angles and there was also just a behind the scenes, and which
was Frida who controlled her girls before going on stage.

The attention focused on the early leaders who came out on the catwalk, so white and
ice, and here be the first stock exchange, did not have to wait that long: it is
a flat white clutch with flap closure and golden logo on sight, very simple but
effective. Between coats, fur their way to the other bags, handbag or even
medium size slightly larger.

Among all strictly handbags, a feature of the shows, performed well
Gucci handbags
required to shoulder the same model, shoulder important or read for the evening.
The first is with metal handle shoulder bags, which combines a complete
steam-brown fur, the second strap, the more robust the wearer instead Natasha
Poly, familiar face of the brand and star of several ad campaigns, like the
spring-summer 2010.The Gucci bag
is in a nice sand color, combined with a smooth coat in the same color.

Clutch plate of gray smoke, which goes on the catwalk
with a coat also in the same key. Even the green trunks, is softer than
restrictive, both in plain, that in fantasy, both in skin tissue. Predominant
use of the special ostrich skin, divided into various shades, never shrill.

In conclusion, I liked the parade of Gucci, lovers of the awards were not
disappointed, I liked more the first part, with creations in light shade and
coats in camel. Fine furs, finishing with a bright, beautiful in their
simplicity the clutch, the handbag in ostrich and then finally Visy also has
some shoulder.

PARIS FASHION WEEK 2010 IN REVIEW

Ok, it’s the end of Paris Fashion Week. Designers,  such as Chanel and Valentino showcased gorgeous collections. Since I already covered these designers in an earlier blog, I am going to review the other collections that were burning the runway with their smoking hot collections. Here is Paris Fashion Week 2010 in Review.

My, oh my, my favorite collection from Paris Fashion Week was from Hermes.  This menswear-inspired collection was brilliant with the sexy black leather dresses, black, shiny leather skirt suits and the stunning black leather 3-piece pant suits with well-tailored pants and vests.  The suits were accessorized with wool top hats, some with crocodile accents as well.  I also loved the use of shiny crocodile as an accent on the front of  gowns and placed strategically on the shoulders of wool coats.

Like most of the runway collections, outerwear was the focus of the Louis Vutton collection. There was a lot of volume that came with the outerwear, from a mix of a flared floral dress with a gorgeous gray tweed pea coat to a gray full leather skirt with a long, gray sheath coat. There were also a couple of flowy, bright and full floral print dresses and lots of flared skirts and dresses.  Toward the end of the collection there were also gorgeous structured ball gowns with elaborate metallic black and gold gathered fabrics, sexy chiffon and statuesque design.

The Elie Saab ready to wear featured sexy and edgy designs.  Luxurious silks were used with black lace inset in both short, elegant dresses and skirts. And the collection included Little Black Dresses with a sexy twist.  It included short black  dresses  with one shoulder and  sexy cutout designs.  Black fur shrugs and black fur cropped coats were used with coral  jersey knit dresses.

Miu Miu had an amazing Mod, 60s inspired collection. From sexy lace to detachable bows with a pastel colored cardigan to beautiful metallic appliques, this line was sure to deliver luxurious pieces.

5 WAYS TO USE YOUR ACCESSORIES TO LOOK THINNER

There are many ways to look thinner. We can exercise and diet for a few weeks or months, we can wear the right outfit, and some women go as far as to get plastic surgery. Though I don’t discourage most of these ways of getting thin, there are faster, more fun (not to mention more inexpensive) ways to look thinner. Here are 5 ways to use your accessories to look thinner.

1. Match your shoes with your skin color- I found this technique by accident.  I was shopping for pumps about 6 months  ago at one of my favorite shoe stores.  There was a gorgeous pair of black pumps on sale for $17.99 but it sold out and they only had a coffee color version of the same shoe.  I am not a big fan of brown shoes so I wasn’t too happy about that. Since I am a shoe freak, I bought it anyway. The shoe happened to be my skin tone. When I put it on with my outfit that night ( a leopard flare-bottom dress), it made my legs look thinner. I am a small frame anyway, but it made my legs look longer and thinner!

The trick is to find neutral-colored heels with a “skin-tone”  shade,  particularly one as close to your own as possible.

2. Wear skinny pointed toe shoe with high heels- Continuing with the conversation of heels, it is a good idea to choose a skinny heel that is at least 2 inches tall. Skinny heels instantly makes your calves look thinner, and as a result, make you look both thinner and taller.  Beware of square toe heels and clunky heels which have the opposite effect; it can make your legs look shorter than they are, and as a result, can make you look wider.

3. Wear belts- This does not refer to wearing belts in the loops of your jeans.  I mean wearing belts above your belly button. Belts can be miracle workers in some cases. You can use a belt on a dress, a shirt, even coats and jackets.  Use a wide belt, about 1.5-2 inches in width, preferably in black or brown. Don’t wear your belt too tight, though. You don’t want to create “rolls” you may not even have. And if you have “rolls”, you don’t want to emphasize them. You want to wear the belt between 2 and 4 inches below your bust line, or right above your belly button.

4. Wear underwear-That is, wear the right underwear. Did you know that if you invest in a bra that fits  you can look pounds thinner up top? Also, you want to make sure you have the right size panties as well. The last thing you want to do is create bulges on your behind.  This can destroy an outfit! The easiest thing to do is wear a thong or g-string. If you wear these, make sure the sides of the thong or g-string are not too tight. This can create “rolls”.  It’s all about making sure it fits AND flatters.

5. Chunky jewelry-Yes, fat jewelry makes you look thinner. Sounds ironic, right? How, you ask? Well, the upper arm area is a common problem area for women.  If you wear chunky bangles or cuffs, this can draw attention to your lower arms and away from your upper arms.  You can also try wearing chunky rings. The belly is another common problem area for women.  Big earrings, such as tiered  hoop or dramatic chandelier earrings draw attention to your face and away from your middle section.

HOT SHOE TRENDS FOR SPRING 2010

If you’re like me and 95 percent of women in America (I’m just guessing the stats),  I have a big foot fetish. There is no such thing as having too many shoes, in my opinion. On that note, I am so excited to share some of the hot shoe trends for Spring 2010:

1. Open-toe boots- These boots come  in both knee-length and mid-calf length. You can wear both with a sexy denim mini skirt or a mini dress.

2. The wedge-Wedges are coming in both closed and open toe this season. They are coming in denim, leopard, snake skin, leathers, studded,  pastel and neutral colors so the sky’s the limit. Happy shopping!

3. Clogs-Clogs go in and out of style quite often. This Spring season, clogs are definitely in. Like wedges, they come closed and open toe. Wear these with a flowy skirt or skirt with volume and a flirty top. You can also wear it with a flowy dress.

And the award for foxiest dress of the night goes to….

I hate to admit it but I am not a big fan of Sandra Bullock as an actress. But at last night’s red carpet, I think I was her number one fan! That dress was unbelievably stunning and she pulled it off very well. She should have worn her hair swept to the side though. That would have been smoking hot!

I love Penelope Cruz! She is talented, pulled together and fashion forward all the time. Last night was no different. From the sculpture of the dress to the fabric, it was just perfect! Her makeup matched her dress perfectly as well. Great job to Penelope Cruz’s stylist!

Kristen Stewart looked like a porcelain princess  in her Oscar gown. You have to be careful when you have pale skin to dress only in colors that flatter and not wash you out. This gown totally brought out Kristen’s skin color. It was a gorgeous contrast.

AND THE AWARD FOR TACKIEST DRESS OF THE NIGHT GOES TO..PART 2

Why are all these tiny girls in Hollywood swallowing themselves in huge or overly covered clothes? Nicole Richie is one of the repeat offenders. Her dress was more covered up than huge in this case but either or is a crime! I used to think that money automatically brings great fashion sense. Oops, guess I was wrong.

Vera Farmiga, congratulations on your Best Supporting Actress nomination. I’m sure you’ve gained many fans for your brilliant performance. Having many fans is great but not on your dress!  It looked like a collection of silk Chinese fans sewn together!  Well, that may have been a benefit. If it got too hot in there, she had the option of plucking one of those “whatevers” off her dress…with enough to spare for everyone at her table! For some reason, I feel like tangoing!

I am as girly as they comes so I love girly things like ruffles! But the trick to wearing ruffles is to wear it minimally. And with that I will say that Demi Moore overdid it big time! There were way too many ruffles on that dress. I know the tiered look is in but this dress just didn’t work! At least not with such a busy bodice.

AND THE AWARD FOR TACKIEST DRESS OF THE NIGHT GOES TO..

Well, well that time of year again…The Oscars.  And unfortunately, along with  award shows come ugly dresses. First off, why was there a pinata on the red carpet? Oh, my mistake, that was Zoe Saldana’s dress. Disaster is an understatement for this um, dress?

And I was staring at Jennifer Lopez really hard but not because she’s pretty…because I was waiting for her kids to run out from under her dress! Her ass is big enough…why add another one?

Rachel McAdams is a wonderful actress but her Oscar dress was tacky times 10! It was nice of her granny to lend her curtains to the seamstress who made this dress but it wasn’t a good idea for an award show! This was a bad pick for this young doll.
